Cosmetic Dermatology

Board-certified dermatologists are the true experts of skin health and beauty. We safely and ethically provide the following cosmetic services to patients. We ask patients to schedule a dedicated cosmetic evaluation appointment so we can address your cosmetic questions and perform a thorough analysis of your cosmetic goals to recommend the most optimized, multi-prong approach to achieve your desired goals. We charge $75 for a cosmetic consultation and this fee can be applied to procedures if you decide to proceed with a recommended procedure (not applicable to skin care products or prescription compounds, see our Office Policies in the Patient Center tab for details).  

Botox®

Botox® injections for dynamic lines of forehead, frown lines between brows, and crows feet.

Botox® weaken muscles of expression and can also give a subtle brow lift, opening the eyes and creating a more rested, fresh appearance. You begin to see results after one week of treatment, and the results typically last two to four months. There is little discomfort and no downtime. Our patients are delighted to see noticeably smoother, less wrinkled, and more youthful-looking skin with effects lasting typically 3 months on average.

HA (hyaluronic acid) fillers

We use the most sophisticared RHA® fillers available to achieve subtle but esthetically pleasing results for our patients. Our philosophy is to achieve a subtle change that makes you happy but is not obvious. Please schedule a cosmetic consultation to go over your goals and how we can best achieve them with your safety and comfort in mind first and foremost.

IPL® (Intense Pulsed Light)

Our Lumenis® M22® IPL achieves great results for certain types of broken vessels, redness, freckles, age-related brown and liver spots.

Please schedule a cosmetic consultation to go over your options and a treatment plan to prepare for the treatment and after care. At least 2-3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart, are usually necessary to achieve the desired results. You must not have a tan at the time of treatment.  

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Our versatile Deka Tetra Smartxide® CO2 laser allows for a broad range of skin resurfacing treatments with minimal downtime (1-2 days of redness) to impressive results with 1 week of downtime (redness and peeling).  The ultimate result is improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots and skin tightening, giving you a more youthful look.

Acne scars can also be treated with CO2 laser resurfacing and scar subcision.

Microneedling® with PRP®

A great, yet simple and cost-effective, method to improve acne scarring, improve texture and fine lines and wrinkles on the face, neck and chest.

You will arrive 30 minutes before your appointment so we can apply numbing cream to your treatment area and draw a small blood sample for isolation of your platelets that contain potent growth factors. After your skin has become numb, we utilize a small medical decive to create microsopic columns in the treatment area to induce collagen growth and deliver your platelets growth factors deeper into the skin for even greater collagen production.

PRP® for hormonal/familial or age-related hair loss

A natural and non-pharmacologic method to treat age related or hormonal/familial hair loss.

Platelet rich plasma injections utilize the natural growth factors of your own blood's platelets to stimulate hair growth on the scalp. After a simple blood draw, we isolate your blood's platelets and deliver them to your hair follicles with quick scalp injections with the finest needle for increased comfort.

We have partnered with a leading US skin care manufacturer and hand-selected safe, hypoallergenic, effective, and science-based skin care products for our patients to address the most common skin care needs. We educate patients about our skin care products and dispense in our office or ship to your home. Our current skin product line includes:

• For acne/rosacea:
  • SalPad Daily - Salicylic acid cleansing pads to exfoliate clogged pores and antimibrobials to reduce acne causing bacteria. 0.5% Sal acid, antimicrobial oligopeptide, 1% glycolic acid, 1% lactic acid gentle peels)
  • RosAcne - Creamy non-drying cleanser with 3% Colloical Sulfur antimicrobial to reduce acne/rosacea causing bacteria. Fragrance and paraben-free.
  • Azeliacin - Gentle cream with 5% azelaic acid ester, anti-inflammatory and skin repairing 4% niacinamide, moisturizing hyaluronic acid, antimicronial Quassia exrtact for acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. Propylene glycol, paraben and fragrance free.
• Mositurizer:
  • PentaGel - Ultra-rich moisturizer. Highly concentrated HA (hyaluronic acid) to retain moisture, collagen-inducing oligo- and tetrapeptides, anti-inflammatory niacinamide and green tea extract.
• Antioxidant:
  • Antiox CEF Serum - Reduce oxidative stress on skin with 7% Vitamin C ester (equivalent 21% Vit C), 1% Vit E, 1% ferrulic acid, 1% lactic acid.
• Retinoid:
  • Rentinol No. 5 - Potent but gentle retinoid to exfoliate and for aging prevention. Equivalent to 0.05% retinoic acid. With anti-inflammatory extracts of ginger root, camellia leaf, bisabolol.  
• Sunscreen:
  • Tinted SPF 40 daily face sunscreen - Benefits of 4% Zinc and 4% Titanium sunblock without the grease or white look. With anti-oxidant Vit C, Vit E and ferrulic acid. Propylene glycol, fragrance and paraben free. 
• Anti-Aging and Brightening:
  • Brilliance Ultimate Complex - Simplify your skin routine into one product containing:
    • Antioxidants to reduce oxidative stress on skin 
    • Exfoliants for vibrant skin and smaller pore size
    • Brighteners for pigment control
    • Retinoid for anti-aging and collagen/elastin stimulation 

Antioxidants: 3% Vit C ester, equal ~9% Vit C, Vit E, ferrulic acid.

Gentle exfoliant and pore size reducer: 3% TCA, 2% kojic acid. 

Retinoid: 0.2% HPR.

Pigment controlling brighteners: 2% kojic acid, 3% TCA 

• Dark Spots and Melasma:
  • NoireEx Daily Pads: Potent hydroxy acid peel for rapid home treatment of pigment and melasma for 2-4 weeks. 
    • 4% Arbutin (hydroquinone like)
    • 6% Ascorbic acid, 2% Kojic acid, 1% Salicylic acid
  • NoireEx Weekly Pads: Gentle weekly maintenance treatment of melasma and pigment control, to prevent recurrence over time after laser or microneedling.
    • Exfoliants: 7% Azelaic acid, 5% Lactic acid, 3% Phytic acid.
